About this artwork:

This original painting is from Tavalina's latest 2020, pandemic series of paintings about Israel.  Aviel is her home town, where she as all of us has to be isolated for the last few months, noticing things about our surroundings we haven't noticed before.

Artist Bio:

Tavalina (Rinat Kishony) (born 1966) is a contemporary Israeli artist who specializes in vivid, highly abstracted landscape paintings executed with a palette-knife technique. She studied at the Israel Institute of Technology before traveling throughout India and Central America, establishing herself in Italy, and later returning to live and work in Israel. She has exhibited her work across multiple continents.

The subject work is a horizontal landscape featuring Garda Lake in northern Italy. The subject is distilled to painterly smears of vivid pigment with angular outlines.

In her own words:

Nothing can surpass the moment where creativity takes over, leading me on a journey where the infinite starts, time stands still and creation is endless.
